I really can’t believe that it’s just about a month until Christmas. For many small businesses, now is the time of maximum sales revenue as people gear up for the Festive season. So, how can we at MBF help not only our members but those of the wider business community?
Firstly, do come along to our Coffee Connect meetings, for just the price of a coffee you can tap into many years of business experience. Who knows what a simple chat can achieve, and if you need to have a bit of a debrief, to get things off your chest, you are in a safe and non-judgemental environment. We may even be able to offer a solution to your problem.
Secondly, why not tap into some of the excellent training that is available to our members. The talk we received from Ed Lopez, from the Bella Brain Institute was a wonderful example of how thinking outside the box can really help you and your business grow and move onto new levels. This is especially important at the moment when many businesses are not seeing the sales that they have seen in the past. Is there a way that you can pivot your business or move into new areas for you that will help you expand your revenue base? It’s only recently that I personally had an aha moment, as to how I am self-sabotaging my own business and am now working on ways to overcome it. I do feel that some of the tips and hints that Ed gave us as to how we can use our brains to help is business will be very useful.

Also be kind, be patient. With yourself and with others. It works both ways, not only do we need to be aware of what our customers are going through, at what can be a stressful time for many – including us – so where we can, give a smile, go that extra mile. Also, we need to be aware that the staff themselves can be under extra stress at this time of the year as things get busier and they can’t always help us.
I personally have seen this over the past week – Gary, the NRMA man, did all he could to get my van up and running, excellent service. On the other hand, Harold, from Port Macquarie Service Appliance, seems to have vanished, as I try to get him to come and finish the job, he started of getting my dishwasher working. Calls, texts and emails all unanswered. So, I am trying to take my own advice and be patient….
I would like to thank everyone for all their hard work in keeping MBF running as smoothly as it does and I hope to see you at the Coffee Connect.
Wishing you all a very happy and peaceful Christmas and a Prosperous New Year.
P.S. Don’t forget that there is the Joint Christmas Event, to be held at Billabong Zoo, on Friday 5th December. Sadly, I will be working that day and won’t be able to attend.
