Call for Expressions of Interest for the design of MBF's new logo

Updated: Oct 22, 2019

Micro Business Forum is calling for expressions of interest from graphic designers to design our new logo.

Time for a new look

Micro Business Forum (MBF) started as "Home Based Business Club" in 2003. On 8 February 2008, it was called "Home Business Forum" (HBF). Later on, memberships broadened to include micro businesses with less than 5 employees or who are self employed. HBF was renamed as "Micro Business Forum" (MBF). The rebranding of MBF started on 22 February 2013.

It is time for a new look to reflect our 2020 strategic intent that MBF is Home of Entrepreneurs. MBF is a professional and the friendliest business network in town who pride themselves on providing education, networking and support to both start-ups and established micro-business owners so that they can learn, grow and succeed in their businesses.

MBF is seeking expressions of interest from Graphic Designers to design:

  • a fresh modern logo

  • graphic elements to complement the logo

Please note that this is a no fee project. The designer will be acknowledged and the designs selected will be promoted as described below.

These designs will be used on all online channels including website, social media, eMail marketing plus all printed materials like business cards, fliers and banners that will promote MBF.

How to apply

Applications close Friday 29 November 2019. The committee meets on 13 December and will shortlist the designers and work on the course of design work with the successful designer.

To apply, please email to:

Copyright and Moral Rights

All copyright in the designs belong to the designers. The successful designer agree to

grant MBF the permission (in the form of an exclusive licence) to use, adapt, edit,

reproduce and publish any artworks for development and implementation of MBF's branding, sales and marketing efforts. Such permission also extends to any moral rights in the designs.

Promotion

MBF will acknowledge the designers’ contribution in our marketing campaign. The successful designer and their designs will be promoted via the below media:

  • 2020 Calendar: A 2020 events calendar distributed to all businesses and business networks to promote MBF's activities. The launch will be at MBF's February 2020 meeting where the artworks will be acknowledged.

  • Website: A news blog on the designer and the select designs. The campaign will commence from December and aim at channelling traffic to the website news blog throughout the season.

  • General promotion and media: A significant promotional campaign will coincide with the launch of the "new look" online and the 2020 calendar distribution. The campaign will commence from December and will include media releases, promotion with various business networks and much more.

  • Social media campaign: Designs will also form part of a social media campaign directing activity and online traffic to further information. Individual media and social media campaigns may also be developed.
